1. Who we are

Bamboo Panda Limited is a New Zealand registered company at 340 Mount Eden Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024. We are the agency responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Our privacy officer can be reached at the email address at the foot of this page.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need in order to trade with you:

• Business name, business number (NZBN or ABN), and trading address
• Contact name, role, email address and telephone number
• Delivery addresses and any delivery instructions you give us
• Order history, invoices and payment records
• Credit application details and trade references, where you apply for terms
• Correspondence between us

We do not collect or store payment card details. Card payments are made on our payment provider's own hosted page, so card numbers are never entered on this site or seen by us. Bank account details you provide for refunds are held only for that purpose.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you complete our enquiry form, apply for an account or credit terms, place an order, or correspond with us. Where you provide trade references, we collect information from those referees with your authority.

4. Why we use it

• To assess and open your trade account
• To process, pick, invoice and deliver your orders
• To assess creditworthiness where you have applied for terms
• To provide support and handle claims for shortages or faults
• To send line sheets, stock updates and price changes relevant to your account
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is necessary, and only with:

• Freight carriers and customs brokers, to deliver your order
• Our banking, payment and accounting providers, to take and record payment
• Credit reporting and debt recovery agencies, where an account is overdue
• Professional advisers and regulators, where we are legally required to

Some of these providers hold data outside New Zealand. Where that is the case we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection, as required by Information Privacy Principle 12.

6. Marketing

We may email you about ranges, stock and pricing relevant to your trade account. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time without affecting your account. We comply with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.

7. Storage and security

Information is held on access-controlled systems with reputable providers. Access is limited to those who need it to do their job. We keep records for as long as we have a business relationship with you and for seven years afterwards, to meet our obligations under the Tax Administration Act 1994 and the Companies Act 1993.

8. Cookies and analytics

This website is a static site and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. We do not run third-party advertising pixels. If we introduce analytics we will update this policy first and use a privacy-respecting provider that does not build cross-site profiles.

Photographs on this site are served from a third-party image host, which will receive your IP address as part of the ordinary technical process of delivering an image, as any host does.

9. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Write to sales@bamboopanda.co.nz and we will respond within twenty working days.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

10. Privacy breaches

If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as soon as practicable, as required by Part 6 of the Privacy Act 2020.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
